Ice Storm

It's been a while since I have posted. We have been dealing with the aftermath of the major ice storms that came through Oklahoma two weeks ago. These pictures were taken after the first wave of the storms came through. We just thought it looked bad then.... After two more rounds of ice it looked like a huge bomb had detonated in the area. I didn't get photos of the later damage as, by then, we were without power and I was trying to conserve the digital camera's AA batteries in case we needed them for something else.

The saddest loss was our beautiful Willow tree. It was split in two after later rounds of ice...

Looking down our street.

This is a view of the back of the property. Dad's shop and our storage building are completely hidden from view by the fallen tree limbs on the right side of the photo. After the ice finally melted we were able to determine that the falling limbs had miraculously missed both buildings.

This is the only tree on the property that was not destroyed by the storms. A few limbs on the right side of the tree were broken after the second wave of ice hit, but it is still standing strong and beautiful.
